Unintegrated reflexes are often characterized but poor coordination, challenges with fine and gross motor skills. Additionally, children with unintegrated reflexes often struggle with cognitive and emotional development.
Reflex Integration, specifically the Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration (MNRI®) Method targets retained primitive reflexes. Primitive reflexes are innate movements present in all newborns. As infants mature, these reflexes should gradually transition from automatic, instinctual movements to voluntary and increasingly complex control. However, in some cases, these reflexes may persist beyond the typical developmental timeline, potentially interfering with a child's ability to perform activities requiring higher-level skills and coordination. Using a gentle, targeted technique, reflex integration helps to reorganize the nervous system and improve neurological function. This supports physical, cognitive, and emotional development by enhancing brain-body communication.
